New Official Website
Forest Green Rovers F.C. Launches New Official Website
www.ForestGreenRoversFC.com
Forest Green Rovers F.C. have today unveiled their new official website; and the new look, 200 page site is set to rival that of any clubs’ in the Barclays Premiership.
www.ForestGreenRoversFC.com has been developed by Bristol-based firm Publicity Matters to amply reflect the first-rate facilities available at the Blue Square Premier club’s £3million home stadium.
The site contains facts, figures and information on Rovers’ First and Reserve sides, as well as one of the most comprehensive ‘club history’ sections of any team in the English football pyramid. The website also features online ticketing capabilities for home matches and events – a first for the non-league club.
The new site will continue to be developed after launch, with sections for the club’s Youth and Ladies sides soon to be added, as well as a brand new online shop facility.
Forest Green Rovers F.C.’s Chairman, Colin Gardner MBE, is excited by the developments: “I am delighted with the new website, and I hope our fans will enjoy what the team have created. The Board of Directors are keen to take the club forward, and we hope that this new site can help us do that.”
Forest Green Rovers F.C. moved to their new stadium, in Nympsfield Road, Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, in August 2006 – a move which sparked rapid progression for the club, both on and off the field. The club are enjoying a fine campaign in the Blue Square Premier, and at time of writing lie in eight place in the table – just seven points outside the play-off zone, and a chance to compete for a place in the Football League.
This remarkable progression has been mirrored off the field, as the club continues to go from strength to strength. The move to the new stadium gave birth to the Five Valleys Conference & Leisure Centre – the club’s conference, leisure, entertainment and banqueting arm, housed within the stadium complex. The Centre incorporates 10 conference and event suites, available for hire for daytime and evening conferences and functions, as well as a fully-equipped fitness centre (“Five Valleys Leisure”), and onsite public house (“The Green Man”).

Weymouth v Rovers
Rovers will be looking to get their play-off dreams back on track tonight as they travel to play Weymouth, kick-off 7.45pm.
Jim Harvey will have three 1st choice players back in his squad as defenders Daren Jones and Chris Giles return as does Alex Lawless after they finished serving suspensions during Saturday's draw with Oxford United.
This will probably signal a change in defence as Michael Brough could be deployed back in midfield after covering at the
back on Saturday. Goalie Terry Burton is expected to start again after keeping a clean sheet at the weekend.
A defeat for Rovers tonight could see them slip down another place to tenth as Ebbsfleet have two games in hand over Rovers. A good win however could see them go back up the table to 7th.
If you wish to travel by coach for this match please contact Brian Fream as soon as possible on telephone 01453 832858.
Monday 3rd March 2008

Ben Ashford joins 1st team
Following his excellent performances so far this season for the Reserves and an outstanding game to keep the Southern
Leagues top scorer (Sean Canham - Team Bath) quiet when we loaned him across to Gloucester City, 18 yr
old Ben Ashford as signed forms for the Blue Square Premier.
He will feature in the 1st team squad at Cambridge United and has been allocated Squad No 15.
Ben has already represented English Colleges in 10 internationals and is considered by the management team to be a very
bright prospect and now ready to be involved with the 1st team on a regular basis. He will complete his time at Hartpury
College in the next few months and is seeking a full time professional contract at Rovers for next season. Ben originates
from Honiton in Devon.
Friday 22nd February 2008
Cambridge v Rovers
Forest Green Rovers travel to play Cambridge United tomorrow afternoon, kick-off 3.00pm.
Manager Jim Harvey will be missing two vital players as due to suspensions both Darren Jones and John Hardiker will be
missing from the Rovers defence. Harvey will welcome back midfielder Simon Clist though.
Cambridge will also have two important players missing, their top striker Scott Rendell has left for Peterborough during the week on loan whilst another ex-Forest Green player Mark Beesley will not be played as part of his transfer agreement.
This is a huge game for both teams as a defeat for Rovers could effectively end their hopes of reaching the play-off positions whilst Cambridge will be looking to cement their place in the top five teams.
There are still a few seats left on the Supporters coach travelling to the match, to book a seat please call Brian Fream as soon as possible on telephone 01453 832858.

Rovers 1 Stafford 2
An unacceptable performance by Rovers resulted in a 2-1 win for visitors Stafford Rangers on Saturday.
Rovers went one nil down after a complete hash of a clearance by goalie Ryan Robinson, the ball was sliced directly towards
ex-Rovers striker Neil Grayson who made no mistake and gave Stafford the lead.
Michael Brough then equalised but it was clearly evident which team wanted to win the most as Stafford went on to
take the lead again and take all three points as they look to climb out of the relegation zone. Match report
HERE.
Rovers next match is away against high-flying Cambridge United next Saturday.

Press Release
Manager Jim Harvey has completed his first loan signing of the 2007/08 season by recruiting Ishmael WELSH from Division One Yeovil Town. The move has been financed by the supporters at the New Lawn in the shape of their GRASS Appeal. The club are most grateful to those fans who "Give Regularly - Assist Squad Sponsorship". This is the first time this season that Harvey has tapped into this funding stream to help his 1st team squad.
21 yr old Welsh has already tasted Blue Square Premier action, having been on loan earlier in the season with Torquay United, where he made 20 appearances for the Gulls. Harvey needs to consider making a couple of signings to bolster his bare squad and following their recent run of matches, Simon Clist needs a weeks break from competitive football to assist recovery from an ankle injury. With the club having operated all season with 20 players and recently losing Mark Beesley to rivals Cambridge United, Harvey appreciates his squad is somewhat depleted and needs to strengthen as the business end of the season approaches. Welsh as already played twice gainst Rovers this season and therefore Harvey is well aware of the ability of the player. Whilst he may have certain similar qualities as Clist he also brings blistering pace.
Welsh is allocated Squad Number 16 and trained with his new colleagues today for the first time, ahead of Rovers fixture against Stafford Rangers tomorrow. The loan is initially for one month but agreement is open to it being extended if both clubs feel it is in the long term interest of the player.
Friday 15th February 2008
Rovers v Stafford
Forest Green Rovers entertain Stafford Rangers tomorrow afternoon, kick-off 3.00pm.
Stafford are currently 2nd from bottom of the league but they are more than capable of denting Rovers promotion
dreams having beaten Rovers recently in the FA Trophy. They also picked up a win against Weymouth last weekend
and they will be desperate for any points they can get against Rovers to avoid relegation.
Rovers Boss Jim Harvey has no new injury problems following the draw at Stevenage last Wednesday, and hopefully
his team can start the match tomorrow as they ended at Stevenage with a flurry of good passing and goal attempts.
A defeat for Rovers could see them slip down the table as Ebbsfleet have a game in hand over Rovers and are only two
points behind.
The match is a KIDS GO FREE match.
The Club Shop now has in stock a quantity of the new style scarves for sale. These are new designs, there is a black and white home version and a black and green away version.

Club comment Stevenage Borough Match
Due to the number of complaints received concerning certain comments which were made by one of the commentary team representing 3CR last evening, we have asked the radio station to look at the remarks and give advice and guidance accordingly. The Editor of the station has confirmed they will investigate and take appropriate action and we have confidence that they will.
No official complaint has therefore been lodged by FGR FC but individuals have the right to do so if they feel they wish to do so. The comments alleged to have been made, are matters which any person who feels offended, has a right in law to complain about.
It is therefore a timely reminder to everyone, that whilst football is an emotive subject, that individuals must be fully aware of the law of the land and comments passed can be in breach of the law, even if unintended. That also relates to comments posted on web-sites.

Away point for Rovers
Forest Green Rovers achieved a creditable 0-0 draw away at third placed Stevenage Borough last night but they should really have taken all three after an outstanding second half display.
Thick fog blighted the first half and Rovers set about thwarting Stevenage's home advantage. The home side had most of
the play and should really have been two goals up going into the break. Stevenage's Steve Morison wasted two good chances,
first blasting well wide when one on one with Ryan Robinson then he missed a free header in front of goal.
The second half saw Rovers dominate play with some excellent passing. Stevenage were struggling to cope and Rovers
created many chances to score but somehow failed to get that important winning goal. Match report
HERE.
Rovers are now four points off the play off zone so the home match this coming Saturday against Stafford Rangers becomes a must win match.
Wednesday 13th February 2008
Stevenage v Rovers
Rovers travel to play Stevenage Borough this evening in this very important 6-pointer match. Kick-off 7.45pm.
A win for Forest Green tonight will take them above Exeter City and within two points of the playoff zone and will also damage Stevenage Borough's attempt at becoming Champions.
Stevenage have a couple of injury doubts as John Martin and Callum Willcock have been suffering from hamstring injuries.
Rovers will be at near full strenth again going into this match and will be looking to extend their run of four games
unbeaten in the league. Stevenage have had a few dodgy results lately but will be a tough team to beat but with Rovers recent good defensive performances it is hoped that three points will be won tonight by Jim Harvey's squad.
There is no Supporters Coach this evening. A few people are travelling by car, please contact Brian Fream on 01453 832858 or visit the Stevenage Travel thread on the club forum.

Rovers win on the telly! Rovers 1 Crawley 0
Forest Green Rovers won 1-0 last night thanks to an Alex Lawless goal towards the end of the match.
Stuart Fleetwood had put the ball into the opponents net but it was ruled offside. The win sets up Rovers for a huge
match this coming Wednesday evening when they travel to play promotion rivals Stevenage Borough. A win for Rovers Wednesday would put them just three points behind
3rd placed Stevenage. Crawley match report
HERE.
There is a reserve match at the New Lawn tonight against Exeter City Reserves.
With our BSP match against Stevenage coming up on Wednesday we will be putting out only one or two from the 1st team squad this evening. Mostly it will be the Hartpury College 1st team who are having an excellent season and to whom we are affilated.
Exeter City with also an important match tomorrow will be playing a similar based team so it could be an interesting an open game.
Kick Off is at 7.00pm and entry £3 and £1.
Sunday 10th February 2008

as to date the club has never won a live televised match.
Rovers will be at full strength going into the match but will be well aware of Crawley Town's current form which boasts a nine match unbeaten run.
Forest Green need a win to stay in touch with the play off places, and will be looking for striker Stuart Fleetwood to
regain his scoring touch to help Rovers to an important win.
Both the Manchester derby (1.30pm) and the Chelsea v Liverpool (4.00pm) matches will be shown live in the Green Man pub
at the ground during today before the big match this evening.

last night. Rovers are now out of all of the cup competitions for this season.

Woking v Rovers

The New Lawn. The Green Man has recently installed two 40" flat screen televisions to go with the existing large projection screen.
Rovers will probably again be without Stuart Fleetwood for this match so it will be interesting to see how Jim Harvey's side will perform against Woking.
There are a couple of seats left on the Supporters Coach traveling to the match tonight. It will leave The New Lawn at
5.00pm, before picking up at Sainsbury at 5.10pm before heading towards Woking. To book a seat please contact Brian

Rovers win point away
Rovers gained a valuable point away against Salisbury on Saturday despite having a number of players unavailable.
Star striker Stuart Fleetwood was ruled out with a stomach bug and Adriano Rigoglioso was also out with a calf injury.
Manager Jim Harvey's side almost snatched all three points though as defender Chris Giles smashed a
shot against the goal bar after he was pushed forward to play up front. Match report
HERE.
Kick-off time for the Crawley match next Sunday evening has now been changed to 7.15pm.
Friday 1st February 2008
Salisbury v Rovers
Forest Green Rovers travel to play Salisbury City tomorrow afternoon in their next Blue Square Premier football match. Kick-off 3.00pm.
Rovers Manager Jim Harvey has not been able to bring in any fresh faces to the squad during the transfer period
which ended last night. With the loss of Mark Beesley to promotion rivals Cambridge, it is hoped that Adriano Rigoglioso
will be fit for the trip tomorrow to play a similar role. The midfielder is however struggling with a calf injury.
Midfielder Simon Clist makes a welcome return to the side after having an ankle problem and goalie Ryan Robinson will face a late fitness test before the match but is expected to start. Michael Brough is rated doubtful with a hamstring problem and John Hardiker has a groin injury so may miss out on making the squad.
There are a few seats left on the Supporters coach, to book a seat please call Brian Fream on 01453 832858 as soon as possible.
There will be a Silly skittles evening in the Green Man pub tomorrow evening (Saturday) starting at 8.00pm. This is in aid of FGR Youth and everyone is welcome to come along.
Tuesday 29th January 2008
BEES FLY’S EAST
Forest Green Rovers announce that at 2pm this afternoon (Tuesday 29th January) striker Mark Beesley moved to promotion rivals Cambridge United for an undisclosed fee allied to further conditional agreements, one of which means he is not eligible to play against Rovers for the rest of this season. The transfer, which went through in the space of one hour, means that he will be available to play against Exeter City this evening, the second time he will have faced the Grecians in 72 hours.
Manager Jim Harvey had thwarted several attempts from Jimmy Quinn, to keep the 27 yr old at the New Lawn but an offer which will see him tied to the Abbey Stadium until 2010, was destined to go through when the player made it known that he wished to take up this opportunity at this stage in his career.
Beesley was part of the country’s most prolific striking duo, when alongside Stuart Fleeetwood, who himself only last week turned down a £200,000 move to Crewe Alexandra, they had bagged a staggering total of 43 goals between them this season.
Whilst Forest Green Rovers are never happy to lose a player of Mark’s capability, the club will never stand in the way of any player wishing to leave if he feels his future is destined elsewhere. The club thank Mark for his contribution since his arrival in 2004 and wish him and Ruth all the best for the future.
Tuesday 29th January 2008
Senior Challenge Cup Bristol City v Rovers
Forest Green Rovers travel to play Bristol City tonight in the Semi-Final of the Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup. Kick-off 7.45pm.
Rovers Boss Jim Harvey is expected to rest several 1st team regulars for tonight's game with a hectic fixture list coming
up during February.
There may be a chance for several 1st teamers to get some fitness practice back though as Adriano Rigoglioso, Danny Carey-Bertram and Terry Burton should feature whilst some of the youngsters at the club should also get a run out.
The winners of tonight's match will face either Bishops Cleeve or Cheltenham Town in the final.
Bristol City beat Cirencester Town 1-0 away in the 1st round before beating Mangotsfield United 4-0 away in the Quarter-finals.
Monday 28th January 2008
FGR U14's 1 Gotherington U14's 1 Rovers won 5-3 on penalties
A well deserved win for Rovers U14's with some very good football played by both sides. Rovers took the lead with a well taken
strike by R. Gardiner midway in the first half.
In the second half total control was with Rovers but with a wonderful
taken goal by Gothering on the break it went all square, Rovers had a lot of chances but could not put them away so final
whistle went so it was straight into penalties.
Five well taken penalties see Rovers through to the semi-final of the league Cup. Well done lads great stuff by all.
Monday 28th January 2008
ROVERS 1 EXETER 1
Forest Green Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw against Exeter City on Saturday in front of an impressive 2325 crowd. Rovers went behind after sixteen minutes but Darren Jones headed in from a free kick just before half time. The second half was scoreless although Exeter created more goalscoring
chances and were unlucky as they hit the post whilst Rovers struggled to pressure the visitors goal. Match report to follow.
Friday 25th January 2008
ROVERS V EXETER
Tomorrow's clash between Rovers and Exeter City at The New Lawn looks to be a massive game for both clubs as Rovers look to catch up with teams in the play-off zone whilst Exeter City hope to lift themselves up the table above Rovers. Kick-off 3.00pm.
Rovers fans will be roaring on their team and should give star striker Stuart Fleetwood a deserved round of applause
after he opted to stay with the Nailsworth Club rather than accept an offer from 1st division Crewe Alexandra during
mid-week. Exeter on the other hand will be without
forward Jamie Mackie after his defection to their rivals Plymouth Argyle in a deal worth £145K.
Exeter will be a difficult challenge for Rovers but Harvey is expected to stick with the same side who battered Aldershot at The Rec last weekend in their 1-0 win over the current leaders.
Rovers defender Chris Giles and winger Lee Dodgson are back from injury but may have to wait to get back into 1st team action, striker Danny Carey-Bertram still has a groin problem as is set to miss the match.
This is an all pay on the gate match, so no tickets are available in advance. A strong following is expected from Exeter so Rovers have allocated their supporters the seated South Stand and the whole of the open West Terrace.
Rovers fans will therefore only have the Western Thermal seated stand and the Rockwool Stand. Rovers fans are also reminded that there is a bar in the Western Thermal Stand should the Green Man pub get too busy.
The Club Shop now has new stocks of replica home shirts and Umbro polo shirts as well as extra stocks of hoodies. New style skull hats are also now available.
Tuesday 22nd January 2008
STUART FLEETWOOD PRESS RELEASE
It is announced by Forest Green Rovers FC that Stuart Fleetwood has turned down a move to Crewe Alexandra FC and in the process committed himself totally to help Rovers reach the play offs in the Blue Square Premier.
The 21 yr old striker, after visiting Gresty Road; and discussing personal terms with Crewe Alexandra, has made the decision to remain at the New Lawn, after considering all his options, with his family and his agent.
Rovers Manager Jim Harvey was delighted to hear the news in a late night call from Stuart, as the team boss has been instrumental in turning around Stuart’s career. Harvey stated "Whilst neither the Board nor myself, would ever stand in the way of any player progressing up the football ladder and that on this occasion we may have missed out on a massive windfall, it shows how genuine Stuart is and knowing the lad as I do, I know his word is his bond"
Stuart wishes it to be known to all those associated with Forest Green Rovers that irrespective of any other bids, he will now be playing in the famous black and white stripes and trying his hardest to assist his team mates in achieving a play off position.
He said "It is a decision I have reached along with my family. Everyone at Rovers has made us so welcome from the Boardroom to the supporters on the terraces. My mother in particular has a genuine affection for the club and everyone she meets each match day. The club is now part of my family as well and I am committed with my team mates to making this the best ever season that the club have experienced in their history"
"Obviously I have been kept informed by the club of all the interest shown and I can honestly state that even if any other clubs come in with a late bid before the transfer window closes, I am not interested. The summer may be a different matter but I owe a debt of gratitude to the gaffer (Jim Harvey). At a time when many thought my career had ended, he had faith in me and I love the way he has the lads playing and that has helped me tremendously".
Despite the fact that the club would have benefited financially from the deal agreed with Crewe Alexandra, they respect Stuart’s personal decision not to move at this stage and welcome his commitment to join the clubs ambition to reach the Football League. This announcement will no doubt see Stuart receiving a rapturous reception this coming Saturday when Rovers entertain Exeter City at the New Lawn in a vital league fixture.
Tuesday 22nd January 2008
BEER FESTIVAL
The Club announce that The New Lawn will be hosting a BEER FESTIVAL this summer. Aldershot 0 Rovers 1
Forest Green Rovers produced a fantastic display away at league leaders Aldershot Town on Saturday and fully deserved
their victory winning 1-0. A very early goal by Mark Beesley gave Rovers the perfect start, and Aldershot hardly
troubled Ryan Robinson's goal throughout the match as Forest Green defended very well.
Rovers created numerous chances to extend their lead, they hit the post and also had a
strong penalty decision declined. Match report
HERE.
The win sets up a great match for next Saturday when Rovers host Exeter City at The New Lawn, Exeter are on a very good run at the moment and will have the chance to go above Rovers should they manage to win.
Friday 18th January 2008
Aldershot v Rovers
Forest Green Rovers travel to play league leaders Aldershot Town tomorrow afternoon, kick-off 3.00pm.
Boss Jim Harvey has few injury problems with his squad as Chris Giles, Lee Dodgeson and Danny Carey-Bertram are all out with injuries. The good news is though that Adriano Rigogliosso is available again after a knee problem and John Hardiker returns after a bout of flu. Midfielder Michael Brough also returns to the squad after serving a one match ban.
Rovers had better improve on their recent defensive perfomances to avoid letting Aldershot 'do the double' over Rovers having lost 3-2 at The New Lawn back in early September.
Sunday 20th January 2008
PRESS RELEASE
It is announced that both Forest Green Rovers FC and Crewe Alexandra FC have reached an agreement on the possible transfer of the registration of 21 yr old striker Stuart Fleetwood.
As a consequence of both clubs reaching a financial agreement in respect of such transfer, Crewe Alexandra FC has been given permission to speak to the player in relation to personal terms.
A further release will be issued when Crewe Alexandra FC and the player have met.
In the meantime no further comment will be made by either club, until such discussion has been completed.

Rovers dumped out of Trophy
Rovers poor start to the New Year continued as they were dumped out of the FA Trophy by Stafford Rangers, who so far
have not won a league home yet this season. Rovers gifted the home side a penalty as Paul Stonehouse handled the ball in the penalty area so Stafford took the lead after 25 minutes. Rovers were struggling to make any impression on the match but were level shortly into the second half as Alex Lawless hammered home a free kick.
Rovers were undone though as a terrible mistake cost them the match. From a free kick Rovers tried to catch the Stafford
forwards offside, but they were left red-faced as the home side were left with four players with the ball against
a lonely Ryan Robinson in goal who had no chance. A late sneaky back heel by Stuart Fleetwood went just wide
of the post but Rovers will have to wait another season for a trip to Wembley for a Trophy Final. Match report
HERE.

Rangers v Rovers FA Trophy 2nd Round Proper
Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways in this important FA Trophy match tomorrow away against Stafford Rangers. Kick-off 3.00pm.
Boss Jim Harvey will hopefully have the majority of his squad back after last week as most the squad were suffering with gastroenteritis. The only definate absentees are midfielders Michael Brough (suspended) and Lee Dodgson who has a twisted knee after playing a reserve match during the week. Chris Giles also has a calf injury.
Stafford Rangers have their own problems going into the match. Caretaker Manager Neil Grayson has a one-match ban, and
midfielder Chris Flynn completes a four match ban tomorrow. Defender Jimi Sangare may be out after limping off during
their last match with an ankle injury recurrence. Stafford also deceided to let French midfielder Sami
Mawene move to Bury during the week. Sebastiaen Arnolin is also cup-tied.
There is £5000 prize for the winners of this round and a win would take Rovers into the last 16 teams and the chance to
become the first club ever to win two of the three major FA competitions.
There are just four spaces left on the Supporters Coach going to Stafford, should you wish to go on it then please call Brian on 01453 832858 as soon as possible.

ROVERS SIGN FORMER LIVERPOOL STAR JOHNSON
Forest Green Rovers F.C. have announced that former Liverpool and England centre-forward David Johnson will be the guest speaker at their forthcoming Sporting Dinner, on Thursday 28th February 2008.
A talented goalscorer who blended power and precision, Johnson was part of the highly-successful Liverpool side of the late Seventies, winning a host of domestic and European honours during his 6 seasons with the club, including the European Cup and Super Cup. Johnson made over 200 appearances for Liverpool and scored 78 goals, playing alongside a host of fellow Anfield greats including Kenny Dalglish, Phil Thompson, Kevin Keegan, and Ray Clemence.
Interestingly, Johnson is one of a small handful of players to have played for both Merseyside clubs - having started his career with rivals Everton – and is one of only two players to have scored winning goals for both clubs in Merseyside derby matches.
The powerful striker - who was capped 8 times by England, scoring six goals - also had spells at Ipswich (under the great Bobby Robson), and Manchester City during his illustrious playing career, as well as a short spell in the North American Soccer League with the famous Tulsa Roughnecks! A popular speaker on the after-dinner circuit, Johnson’s witty account of a distinguished career is sure to be a hit at Rovers this February.
The Sporting Dinner takes place on Thursday 28th February 2008, at Five Valleys Conference & Leisure Centre (Forest Green Rovers FC, Nympsfield Road, Nailsworth) starting at 7.00pm. Tickets are priced at just £45p.p or £425 per table of ten, including a fabulous three-course meal from our in-house catering staff. Johnson will be accompanied on the night by a guest comedian, with the dress code for the evening set at ‘smart’.
Johnson’s appearance at the Sportsman’s Dinner is the latest in a series of events at Five Valleys Conference & Leisure, the entertainment and conference arm of Forest Green Rovers F.C. Based at the club’s Nympsfield Road stadium, the Centre is host to a number of ongoing entertainment events, including Comedy Nights, Tribute Acts and a series of Sportsman’s Dinners. An ideal venue for businesses functions and conferences, Five Valleys Conference & Leisure also cater for weddings and party bookings, all handled by experienced staff and with a range of catering options to suit all occasions.
For further information on The Sportsman’s Dinner or to book tickets, please contact Forest Green Rovers F.C. on 01453 834860.

Rovers 1 Grays 2
Forest Green Rovers poor start to the New Year continued as they lost at home to Grays Athletic on Saturday. Rovers were
hit with a number of players not fit enough to play as they were suffering with gastroenteritis. Boss Jim Harvey only had eleven fit players to start with and two of those were goalkeepers.
Despite their problems Rovers started ok and matched Grays until virtually the last kick of the first half, when the
visitors took the lead.
Simon Clist's neat goal after an hour's play gave the home supporters hope as Rovers
looked likely to score again and take the lead. Disaster struck for Grays as they had a player sent off for stupidly
wasting time following a booking. But it was Grays who won all the points as they scored the winner ten minutes
before the end. Match report
HERE.

FA Womens Cup
Forest Green Rovers Ladies FC were defeated 6-0 against Premier division side Liverpool LFC yesterday in the FA Womens Cup.
Rovers hit the post and were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet but they have done the club proud by getting as far
as they did in this seasons competition.
Friday 4th January 2008
Liverpool LFC v FGR Ladies FA Womens Cup
Forest Green Rovers Ladies travel to play Liverpool Ladies on Sunday having won their way through to the last 32 teams in the competition.
The Ladies caused a massive upset by knocking out Premier League (Southern) side Keynsham Town on penalties in the last
round of the FA Womens Cup.
The match ended tied at 3-3 after 90 minutes with Jodie Hennessy (2) and Phillipa Heliwell getting the goals for FGR.
No further goals were scored in extra time and it was Rovers who triumphed on penalties by 3-2.
The Supporters Club are running a coach to Skelmersdale on Sunday to support the Ladies in their FA Cup game against
Liverpool.
The coach leaves the Lawn at 9:00am, the price is £14 adults and £7 Juniors, members receive a £2 discount
For further details contact Brian Fream on 01453 832858 or see him at the men's 1st team match tomorrow.
Friday 4th January 2008
Rovers v Grays Athletic
Forest Green Rovers entertain Grays Athletic at The New Lawn tomorrow afternoon, kick-off 3.00pm.
This match presents Jim Harvey's team with a couple of good opportunities, Rovers could claim their first 'double' of the
season over Grays having beaten them 1-0 away thanks to a goal by Lee Dodgson earlier in the season.
Also with Cambridge United in FA Cup action this weekend, Rovers could move up into the play-off positions should they
manage to win by a four goal margin.
Harvey should have Dodgson back for the match following an ankle problem.
Grays Athletic are missing suspended midfielder Ian Selley. They could also have Jon Ashton and Andy Sambrook out through injury.
Hopefully Rovers will return to their passing game tomorrow rather than some of the hoofing that was witnessed during the
Kidderminster defeat on New Year's Day.
In the Club Shop there is a new range of fleece ski-hats and Skull type hats now available, separate home and away new style scarves should be
arriving during January as are more stocks of replica shirts and padded jackets.
There is a half season DVD of all the home goals scored available in the shop too as well as the new 2008 calendar.
We also have received more stocks of FGR Hoodies which are available in the shop.

Player News
Forest Green Rovers announce that 'keeper Terry Burton has moved himself and his family from their home in Hampshire to
Gloucester and due to this committment from him, he has signed a full time contract which takes him through initially
to the end of this season.
The 26 year old is currently keeping No1 Ryan Robinson on his toes and Terry, who has been in the 1st team on five
occasions this season, has yet to appear on the losing side.
There is also another 26 year old in the club who this week has an occasion to mark. Mark Beesley will make his 100th
league appearance for Rovers on Saturday, when Grays Athletic visit the New Lawn. Mark joined Forest Green in July
2004 from Hereford United but following a serious injury in March 2005 he fought a long fitness battle back to 1st
team action and his performances this season has shown that his efforts have been worthwhile, particularly with his
partnership of Stuart Fleetwood.
In all 1st team matches this season they have accumulated 42 goals and it is only half way through the season.
There will be a presentation for Mark before the Blue Square Premier fixture kicks off.
Wednesday 2nd January 2008
Kidderminster 1 Rovers 0
Forest Green Rovers started the year with a defeat away against Kidderminster Harriers, a single goal giving the home side all the points.
Rovers had plenty of chances to get on the score sheet during the match as they hit the woodwork twice, and managed several shots just wide of goal. They staged a late rally at the end of the match but Kidderminster held on
despite a late close range effort by Paul Stonehouse. Match report
HERE.

Rovers 3 Droylsden 2
Forest Green Rovers got back to winning ways as they beat Droylsden 3-2 at the New Lawn on Saturday. Stuart Fleetwood put
Rovers in front and then an own goal by the visitors doubled the scoreline.
A physical and hardworking Droylsden fought their way back into the match and scored twice through Chris Denham and Terry Fearns but a late goal by Fleetwood gave Rovers all the points. Match report to follow.
Friday 28th December, 2007
Rovers vs Droylsden
Rovers face Droylsden at The New Lawn tomorrow and they will be out for revenge following the 5-3 defeat away at Droylsden a few weeks ago.
Boss Jim Harvey will be looking for his defence to stop making the stupid errors that have cost the team points over the last few league matches, and there may be a few changes to the starting line up as he has almost a fully fit squad to pick from.
Only Olly James has a slight injury (Groin) which he picked up against Hampton & Richmond in the Setanta Shield win.
There are entrance discount vouchers for adults available in the local press for this match (Stroud News & Journal &
Citizen), these will give £4 off entrance to the open terrace and the Rockwool terrace. These have been generously underwritten by FGR FC Chairman Colin Gardner.
Friday 28th December, 2007
Rovers 2 Kiddy 2
A disappointing result saw Rovers draw 2-2 at The New Lawn on Boxing Day. Despite a bumper crowd of over 2000 spectators, it was Kidderminster who took the lead with a penalty shortly into the first half. Rovers were struggling to get into their usual flowing passing game as they played for the first time at home for six matches.
Mark Beesley scored to level the score after a great pass from Stuart Fleetwood as Rovers tried to get into the match.
It was Kiddermenster who took the lead again in the first minute of the secong half as Simon Russell scored for Kiddy's
second. A series of corners for Rovers yielded a goal as Chris Giles headed the home side level again,
and Paul Stonehouse went close with some rasping long range strikes. Match report
HERE.
Christmas Eve, 2007
Rovers v Kidderminster Boxing Day, 3.00pm K.O.
Forest Green Rovers make the welcome return to home soil on Boxing Day against Kidderminster Harriers after six straight matches away. Kick-off 3.00pm.
Boss Jim Harvey should have a near full strength squad to pick from for this important match, Rovers have the chance to
move into the playoff region should Burton Albion slip up away at Stafford.
Rovers go into the match on the back of winning the last two matches, Hampton and Richmond 1-0 last Saturday and 4-1 against
Sutton United in the Trophy the previous Saturday.
Rovers will be want a good win in front of a bumper crowd tomorrow ahead of their next home match which is next Saturday
against Droylsden.
Friday 21st December, 2007
Setanta Shield Hampton & Richmond v Rovers
Forest Green Rovers boss Jim Harvey will have a full squad to pick his team from for tomorrow's Setanta Shield cup match.
Several 1st team regulars are likely to be rested for the match as Harvey prepares for some tough league matches over the
festive period. He will have to be carefull though as Hampton and Richmond are flying high near the top of the Blue Square South division, 3rd place, and will be more than capable of causing an upset. Kick-off is at 3.00pm.
In the Gloucestershire FA Senior Challenge Cup Rovers have been drawn away to Bristol City in the next round. This game is scheduled to be played towards the end of February, a date will be released as soon as possible.
There is a special offer avaailable to any adults attending the Rovers Blue Square Premier fixture on Saturday 29th December

Womens FA Cup Keynsham Ladies 3 FGR Ladies 3
In the twice postponed FA Womens Cup 3rd Round tie, Forest Green Rovers Ladies staged a remarkable come back from being
2 - 0 down away to Keynsham Ladies; and in a pulsating match the scores were tied at the end of 90 minutes at three goals a
piece. Rovers goals came from Phillipa Helliwell and a brace from Jodie Hennessey. After extra time the match went to
penalties and the team from the New Lawn won through 3 - 2.
The result not only extends their winnings in the FA Cup this season to well in excess of £1000 it also means that they have gone further than ever before by reaching the 4th Round where they have been drawn away to LIVERPOOL LADIES FC who currently lie 10th in the FA Womens Premier League.
The tie is scheduled to be played on Sunday 6th January at Skelmersdale FC.
Monday 17th December, 2007
FA Trophy Sutton United 1 Rovers 4
Forest Green Rovers are through to the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Trophy after eventually beating Sutton United 4-1.
Sutton deservedly took the lead on 7 minutes as Rovers struggled to show any decent football at all for the first half an hour, Bashiru Alimi
scoring after some good work by the home side down the wing. Rovers seemed to be intent on playing the long ball game and after numerous wasted
balls Rovers luck changed as Stuart Fleetwood was adjudged to have been fouled in the penalty box, the referee decided that
Sutton's Captain John Scarborough was to be sent off and Fleetwood scored the resultant penalty.
Rovers then started playing football on the floor and for the rest of the match dominated Sutton. It took until the 75th
minute though to take the lead as Paul Stonehouse headed Rovers 2-1 up. Chris Giles then headed in another goal late on
and Fleetwood scored a minute later to give the scoreline a somewhat flattering impression.
Rovers won £4000 for the win and will be hoping for a home draw in the next round having now played six matches on the
trot away from the New Lawn. Match report
HERE.
Friday 14th December, 2007
FA Trophy Sutton United v Rovers
Manager Jim Harvey has a near full strength squad for the FA Trophy match away against Sutton United tomorrow afternoon. Kick-off 3.00pm.
Only midfielder Jamie Pitman is missing as Harvey welcomes back Michael Brough and Adrianno Rigoglioso after long term injuries.
Sutton are currently struggling in the Blue Square Southern division but Rovers will need to continue their good
form with a win if they are to progress to the next round. Since Rovers were dumped out of the FA Cup the FA Trophy represents a good
opportunity of getting to play at the new Wembley stadium for the first time.
A win will present Rovers with the chance of making
history by becoming the first team ever to win two of the three major FA competitions. Rovers won the FA Vase back in
1982 and have since made the finals of the FA Trophy twice, narrowly being beaten 1-0 on both occasions. No team has ever won more than one of either the FA Vase, the FA Trophy or the FA Cup.
There are now limited spaces left on the Supporters Coach, to book a seat please contact Brian Fream on telephone 01453 832858 as soon as possible.

Swindon v Rovers FA Cup 2nd Round Proper
Forest Green Rovers travel to play Swindon Town tomorrow afternoon in which is arguably one of the biggest games in the club's history.
Manager Jim Harvey will be looking for the same type of performance that his side gave at Rotherham United when they outplayed their 2nd Division hosts.
Leading scorer Stuart Fleetwood is back fit for the match after he sat out of the Droylsden match last weekend following a stomach upset, he will now get the chance to show his talents against 'the big boys' and he along with the rest of the squad will be confident of causing a major upset at the County Ground.
Harvey has no new injury worries to contend with, midfielder Michael Brough will be missing though as he is not yet match fit following tendonitis in his knee.
Swindon Town have endured a torrid week ahead of the match, they have lost their manager after Paul Sturrock defected to Plymouth Argyle. Youth team coach Dave Byrne will act as caretaker manager
for the game. Swindon also lost their appeals to have two suspensions overturned, both defender Jerel Ifil and midfielder
Sofiene Zaaboub will be watching from the stands following being sent off last weekend when they played Bristol Rovers.
Forest Green Rovers have now sold just fewer than 1,500 tickets. Please keep hold of the tickets stubs purchased via Rovers as with those you will get priority for tickets should Rovers get through to the next round of the cup. Tickets are available on the day at Swindon Town, it is
expected that Rovers will have nearly 2,000 at the County Ground tomorrow. Kick-off is at 3.00pm.

Super Rovers make history Rotherham 0 Rovers 3
Forest Green Rovers made history last night when they managed to comfortably beat a League side for the first time
ever in a competitive match. Rovers display was fantastic as they outplayed Rotherham of League Division Two for large
parts of the match on their own turf.
The FA Cup 1st Round Replay was one of Rovers best performances of the season so far. Rovers could have gone a goal up in
the opening minute as a Paul Stonehouse effort on goal narrowly missed and that set the tone for
the match as Rovers ran the home side ragged. Defender Chris Giles opened the scoring with deft header after about half
an hour and then Simon Clist slotted home to make it two nil. Stuart Fleetwood notched his 23rd goal of the season to wrap
the match up late on taking Rovers through to the 2nd Round Proper and a plumb away tie against local League
Division One side Swindon Town. Match report
HERE.
Details of the date and time of the Swindon match are yet to be confirmed but tickets for the game will be on sale
from the Club Administration Office on Sunday (25th) between 12 noon and 4.00pm and also next Monday between 10.00am and 8.00pm and also on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10.00am until 4.00pm.. A full press release will be available in the next 24 hours.

FA Cup Replay Rotherham v Rovers
Forest Green Rovers travel to play Rotherham United tonight in a FA Cup 1st Round replay, kick-off 7.45pm.
Boss Jim Harvey has no new injury worries ahead of the match and he will only be missing midfielder Michael Brough and winger Lee Dodgson who has an ankle problem. Rotherham are set to name an unchanged side after recording a win last Saturday in League 2.
Rovers should be confident after a super display at home on Saturday when they beat Histon 3-1, Rovers have gone twelve
games without defeat in all competitions and with Stuart Fleetwood they have the top scorer in senior football in England.
Both sides are showing excellent form in their respective leagues so it should be a good test for Rovers as they bid to beat a league side for the first time ever in a competative match.
This match could go to extra-time and then penalties, the winners tonight will pay Swindon Town away in the 2nd Round Proper.

Rovers 3 Histon 1
Forest Green Rovers moved into the play-off positions with a deserved win over highflying Histon on Saturday. Rovers played some great football and took the lead through youngster Paul Stonehouse after ten minutes.
Stuart Fleetwood scored his first of the match shortly after that. Fleetwood then scored yet again for his 22nd goal of the season before Histon pulled a goal back. The visitors had a good fifteen minutes and could have got themselves back into the match but Rovers held on comfortably in the end and now turn their attention to this Tuesday's FA Cup replay against Rotherham. Match report to follow.
There are about ten seats left on the Supporters coach for the FA Cup replay at Rotherham, it leaves the New Lawn at 2.00pm. If you wish to book a seat please contact Brian Fream as soon as possible on telephone 01453 832858.

Rovers v Histon
Rovers go into this match having not been beaten in eleven matches and they will want a home win to push for a place in the play-off zone. Histon are just three points behind Rovers in the league table so a slip up tomorrow by Jim Harvey's side could prove a disaster.
Harvey will be without Lee Dodgson who has an ankle injury and also Michael Brough who is still struggling with his knee problem. Defender John Hardiker is rated doubtful as he took a knock in his back last Saturday versus Rotherham.
The match will be a KIDS GO FREE game. This applies to children under 16, subject to a maximum
of two children per responsible paying adult. This offer is open to both home and away supporters. Kick-off is at 3.00pm.
Supporters wishing to travel to Rotherham this coming Tuesday for the FA Cup replay please register your interest in the club shop during the Histon match. Rovers will be taking a full size coach with complete with toilet to the match.

Rovers 2 Rotherham 2
Forest Green Rovers FA Cup dreams are still very much alive after they drew 2-2 at the New Lawn yesterday against Rotherham.
Rovers took a two goal lead through goals by Stuart Fleetwood, and at half-time they looked good to progress to the 2nd round proper with ease.
However the second half saw the visitors win a penalty which was taken by Stephen Brogan to make it 2-1, then Rovers could have 3-1 when Fleetwood hit the post. In the last few minutes Rotherham scored an equaliser through Chris O'Grady so there will now have to be a replay on the 20th November.
The winners of the replay will be away to Swindon Town FC in the second round. Match report to follow.

Helpers required!
The club need a few people to come along from 10am - 12noon on Saturday morning to tidy up and make the place look spick
and span ready for the big FA Cup match versus Rotherham on Sunday.
If you wish to slip away to watch another game you'll still have plenty of time and of course it could be the reason you
need to get out of doing the shopping.
Brooms, shovel, gloves and cloths and some window cleaner
would be useful to bring along. There is a bit of litter to pick up so even the kids can do that, providing they have their
gloves on. Thank you.

Fleetwood double wins it Ebbsfleet 0 Rovers 2
Two clinical finishes by Stuart Fleetwood along with a clean sheet at the back earned the points for Rovers away at
Ebbsfleet on Saturday keeping Rovers
in touch with the league leaders. Rovers are now level on points with Burton Albion who are in a play-off position, but Rovers goal diffence is slightly poorer than the Brewers.
Rovers will have to wait for a couple of weeks to see if they can move up the league table as next Sunday they face
Rotherham in the FA Cup 1st Round Proper at the New Lawn. Match report
HERE.
